Yonaka II is a hand punched wool painting made by Lina.
The Yonaka series emerges from the quiet depths of the night, those in-between hours when the world softens and thoughts move slower. It features soft organic forms that drift and hover like dream fragments, over a inky black background, finding calm and beauty in the dark.
Encasing each composition is an eye-catching, textured frame which — together with the soft fuzziness of the wool — adds an extra tactile dimension to each work. So please DO touch!
Punch needle is an embroidery technique using a small handheld wooden pen with a hollow needle that “punches” yarn through fabric. It is much slower and more detailed than the now popular tufting technique, which uses a powered tufting gun.
