Tamago Sushi I is a polymer clay sculpture handmade by Ami.
Tamago (たまご) is the Japanese word for egg, but as a sushi topping it specifically refers to a sweetish rolled up omelet, wrapped in strip of seaweed. Maybe you’d also like to have a try of some fish eggs? Take a look at our Ikura Sushi I! This sculpture is part of the Con-Fusion (コンフューション) Collection, a sculptural series in which I explore my dual heritage. It all started with these sushi pieces which juxtapose Japanese culinary aesthetics with typical European tableware, playfully representing the clash of cultures which made me to who I am today.
Diameter: approximately 20 cm.
Each piece of sushi is sculpted from lightweight polymer clay, painted, glazed and attached to thrifted plates, which makes every item unique.
Add one of two types of plate holders to your order for an easy way to mount your new art work on a wall or display it upright on a flat surface.
Wipe with a soft and damp cloth to clean. Keep away from moisture.
