Onigiri Sculpture

Onigiri is a polymer clay sculpture handmade by Ami.

Onigiri (おにぎり) are Japanese rice balls which are wrapped in nori (seaweed) and often have fillings such as salted salmon or umeboshi (pickled sour plum). Tasty, cheap and portable, they are a staple snack found in any convenience store or supermarket. When in Japan, I’d eat them almost daily so this sculpture is my small homage to the humble onigiri. If you’d like a mini version of this sculpture, don’t forget to check out the Onigiri Pin!

Length: approximately 16 cm.

Made from lightweight and durable polymer clay and hand painted.

This sculpture can be hung on a wall or displayed as is.

Wipe with a soft and damp cloth to clean. Keep away from moisture.
