Potapota I/a Wool Fiber Art Medium (40×50)

Description

Potapota I/a is a hand punched wool painting made by Lina.

The Potapota series evolved from both the Potsupotsu and Nobita series, and focuses on the rounded, fluid forms of the humble droplet. Named after the gentle sound of dripping water — potapota — it transforms simple drop shapes into striking, tangible compositions.

With a nod to Japanese kawaii and pop culture, each piece balances sweetness with attitude. Rounded silhouettes and candy-like colours bring a sense of charm and character, creating a lively yet composed work of art.

Encasing each composition is a bright, eye-catching frame which — together with the gentle fuzziness of the wool —  adds an extra tactile dimension to each work. So please DO touch!

Punch needle is an embroidery technique using a small handheld wooden pen with a hollow needle that “punches” yarn through fabric, one loop at a time. Therefore it is much slower and more detailed than the now popular tufting technique, which uses a powered tufting gun.
